Unidirectional Carbon Fiber Fabric for Structural Strengthening

In the construction of carbon fiber structural reinforcement, there is a step --- cutting the unidirectional carbon fiber cloth, which is the preparatory work before pasting, and it is also an important construction process. Don't underestimate this small step, it's still very important! If it is not done well, it will affect the stress performance of the cured carbon fiber.

How to cut carbon fiber cloth correctly?

The "Code for Acceptance of Construction Quality of Building Structure Reinforcement Engineering" GB50550-2010 requires that the fiber fabric is cut according to the design size, and folding is strictly prohibited; if the original fiber fabric has creases, a section of fabric with creases should be cut off.

In practice, we cut with electric scissors, which is convenient and practical.

Precautions for cutting carbon fiber cloth:

  1) Cut the carbon fiber cloth to the size specified in the design. Remember to meet the design size. It is strictly forbidden to cut the carbon fiber cloth diagonally and prevent wire drawing.

  2) Ensure that the carbon fiber reinforcement after cutting is consistent with the direction of the sticking part.

  3) Cut and shape the carbon fiber to protect it from pollution.
