The core problem in the technology of prestressed CFRP plate reinforcement steel structure is the construction technology of tensioning CFRP plate. The existing prestressed CFRP plate construction technology can be divided into the following three categories:


1) Inverted arch method.

Paste the CFRP plate to the tensile surface of the steel structure to be reinforced with a bonding agent, and then use a jack or other loading facilities to lift the steel structure upwards. After the bonding agent is cured, the jack is removed, that is, prestress is applied. This kind of method does not require additional anchors, the construction is relatively simple, and the scope of application is wide, but it requires large-scale loading equipment, the applied prestress is low and difficult to control, and has great limitations in use, so it is rarely used.


2) The tensioning method of the external reaction frame without anchors.

The CRRP plate is pre-tensioned on the external reaction frame, and the end has the necessary anchoring measures (U-shaped hoop, steel plate bead, etc.). After the bonding agent is cured, the CFRP plate is sheared at the end, that is, prestress is applied. This type of method relies on a large-scale tensioning platform, and requires relatively high test equipment, and it is difficult to achieve on-site reinforcement construction operations.

3) End anchor reinforcement method.

Like traditional prestressed structures, this method does not require an external reaction frame, and permanent anchors are set on the steel structure to be reinforced. The CFRP plate uses the steel structure itself as the reaction frame for pre-stress tensioning. The CFRP plate is coated with epoxy glue before tensioning, and the tensioning is completed before the epoxy glue is cured. After the tensioning is completed, the CFRP plate is glued and anchored on the steel structure. This reinforcement method can directly use the reinforcement member as its own reaction force frame, which is suitable for any size member, does not require a large tension stand, and is more convenient to apply.
