How To Quickly Calculate The Weight Of Carbon Fiber
When buying dry fiber cloth, the first thing that comes to mind is the grammage of fiber fabric. For carbon fiber woven cloth, the conventional grammage includes 200, 230, 300, 400, and 600g/㎡. The conventional weight of aramid fiber woven fabric is also 200, 220, 340, 410g/㎡. So how are these weights calculated and measured? Can you give us a tape measure to calculate it quickly? The answer is yes.
How To Quickly Calculate The Weight Of Carbon Fiber?
Take 3K carbon fiber woven cloth 200g/㎡ as an example:
Most of the carbon fiber yarns on the market use a fixed-length tube as a tube. Each tube of 3K carbon fiber yarn is 1KG, 5000m long, and weighs about 0.2g per m. (The 12K carbon fiber yarn is 4KG per tube, 5000m long, and weighs about 0.8g per m). If the number of carbon fiber yarns per unit area (㎡) can be known, then the weight of the carbon fiber woven fabric per unit area (㎡) will come out. At this time, you need to use a tape measure to clearly distinguish from the picture that there are 5 carbon fiber yarns at a distance of 1 cm, and 500 carbon fiber yarns in a single direction with a length of 1 m. It is conceivable that there are also 500 carbon fiber yarns with a length of 1m in the other direction, so there are 1000 carbon fiber yarns in the warp and weft direction per unit area (㎡), and the single distance is 1m.
Total weight calculation method: 1000 pieces*1m*0.2g/m =200g
Take 1000 denier aramid fiber woven fabric 220g/㎡ as an example:
The 1000 denier aramid fiber yarn is 5KG per tube, 45000m long, and weighs about 1/9g per m. It is clear from the picture that there are 10 aramid fiber yarns at a distance of 1cm. Then, there are 1,000 single-direction aramid fiber yarns with a length of 1 m. The aramid fiber yarn with a length of 1m in the other direction is also 1000
Therefore, the weight calculation method of aramid fiber cloth per unit area (㎡): 2000*1m*1/9g/m≈220g
Remark:
1. Carbon fiber woven fabric has a weight deviation of 0~5% per unit area, specifically refer to the national standard 21409-2008
