CFRP Design Example Of Beam Strengthening
This paper introduces the function and application process of Horse CFRP reinforcement design software through an example.
Example
A concrete beam, concrete strength of C30, section size B × h=200mm × 500mm。 The longitudinal reinforcement and stirrup are HRB400, the lower part of the beam is 4 16mm reinforcements, and the upper part of the beam is 2 14mm reinforcements. Stirrup diameter is 8mm and spacing is 200mm.
Due to the increase of load, the bending moment bearing capacity at the middle of the span is required to be at least 300KN · M. the original member cannot meet the requirements and needs to be reinforced.

New component
Input the section size, reinforcement configuration, concrete information and other parameters of the original member on the member information page, and click Save to complete the input of the original member parameters.
After the input of the original component parameters is completed, the [reinforcement design] or [reinforcement check calculation] mode can be selected.

Reinforcement design
In this mode, the reinforcement amount can be calculated according to the bearing capacity requirements of the members after reinforcement, and the specific reinforcement scheme can be generated.
Select [normal section bending resistance] in the [reinforcement type] of the component, adopt the reinforcement method of [pasting carbon fiber cloth], input the required bending capacity of 300KN · m after reinforcement and the standard value of the original bending moment of 220kn · m before reinforcement, and use high-strength grade I 300g carbon fiber cloth hm-300-i as the reinforcement material.
Click generate scheme to generate a list of alternative schemes as required and display the basic information of each scheme. Click Details to view scheme details.

Reinforcement check calculation
In this mode, the member reinforcement scheme can be input to check whether the bearing capacity after reinforcement meets the reinforcement requirements. The parameters of existing reinforcement scheme shall be configured during parameter input. Click Check Calculation to view the details of check calculation.
